At a close distance from the northern coasts of Evia Island and the peninsula of Magnissia prefecture at the geographical district of Thessalia, the Sporades Islands and a small cluster of islets, most of which are uninhabited, create a superb summer icon. Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros and Alonnissos can be reached by Agios Konstantinos, Volos and Kymi, Evia.

The history of Sporades was affected by the important geographical location of the islands. Traces from the Paleolithic Era were found at the region Kokkinokastro of Alonnissos. Sporades reached their acme during the Protoelladic and Minoan Era and took part in the Persian Wars as well. Sporades decayed during the Byzantine Era, were occupied by the turks, they took part in the Russian-Turkish Wars and were finally liberated in 1830 with the Protocol of London.

Skiathos

The lush vegetation and the impressive golden coasts, which are calculated to be approximately 60, are the main characteristics of the cosmopolitan and picturesque Skiathos. At Hora you will admire the various natural and historical sightseeing, while at Koukounaries you will enjoy numerous water sports.

Furthermore, Skiathos covers an area of 48 sq. km., it has a coastline of 44 km and it also has approximately 5.150 inhabitants.

Skopelos, the administrative center of Sporades, is famous for its superb wine. Visit the beaches of Hovolos, Milia, Adrina, Agnodas, Stafylos, Kanapitsa and visit the scenic settlements, the traditional monasteries and the archaeological monuments. Skopelos covers an area of 95 sq. km., it has a coastline of 67 km and it also has approximately 4.700 inhabitants.

Alonnissos
Ideal for peaceful vacations, Alonnissos is gifted with impressive caves, lush verdure and crystal waters. There you will come across the Mediterranean seal Monachus Monachus. Visit Hora (Patitiri), Votsi and Steni Vala as well as the surrounding islets. The island of Alonissos, which is the largest island of the insular complex, covers an area of 64 sq. km., a coastline of 64 km and has approximately 3.000 inhabitants.
The island of Alonissos is mainly famous for the amazing sea park, the first in Greece, which hosts various rare animal species, offering them a heaven on earth. Furthermore, Alonissos, being a secluded island with natural beauties, is considered to be an ideal resort for combining peaceful holidays with natural living.
Alonissos or Hora, which is the old capital of the island, is built on a hill at a distance of 20 minutes from the port. Patitiri, the new capital and port of the island, which is a town that has been declared scheduled, is a much-frequented resort that pulses with tourism. Moreover, Votsi, a new settlement with lush verdure and sandy beaches, Steni Vala, a popular region with anchorage as well as the surrounding islets, are definitely worth a visit.

Skyros, remoted from the other Sporades and tourism, maintains its traditional character, while it is famous for the local furniture and the local horse breed. Hora or Horio, Linaria, Magazia and Molos are the settlements where you will find the most interesting sightseeing.
